Accessory demand is far more seasonal than most buyers plan for, and factory lead times do not flex to cover a late decision. This is the calendar we work backward from with our own customers.

January through March, plan and reset

The quiet quarter is the right time to reset the wall, clear slow movers and review the previous year of sell through. It is also when summer speaker and outdoor audio orders should be placed, because production and transit for a summer arrival begin here.

Tax refund season lifts mid ticket purchases in many markets, so keep power banks and audio well stocked through late February and March.

April through June, travel and outdoor

Travel adapters, power banks, waterproof speakers, car accessories and mounts all climb ahead of the summer travel season. Graduation gifting lifts audio and speakers through May and June.

This is also the window to place initial holiday orders on anything that requires a factory run or custom packaging, because a holiday custom program placed after August will not land in time.

July through September, back to school and launches

Back to school drives headphones, PC peripherals, memory, chargers and cables, with the peak in most markets falling in the first three weeks of August.

Flagship phone launches usually land in September, which makes late August the moment to secure launch case and screen protection inventory. Stores that wait until the handset is in customers hands are two weeks behind the demand.

October through December, the gift quarter

Speakers, earbuds, power banks, gaming accessories and gadgets carry the gift season. Front of store and endcap placement should convert to gift ready presentation from mid October.

Reorder windows compress sharply in December. Anything you expect to sell through the final two weeks should already be on the shelf by the end of November, because a December reorder frequently arrives after the demand has passed.

The takeaway

Buy summer audio in winter, holiday custom programs by early summer, launch cases in late August and gift inventory by the end of November. The calendar rewards planning and punishes reaction.
