The program
Six things we do between the factory and your shelf
Formalized in 2022 after a market wide rise in undertested power product, and applied to every category we carry rather than only to the ones that make headlines.
Factory qualification
Before a first purchase order we review the factory business license, quality system documentation, applicable certification and production capability. We buy from manufacturers and their authorized agents rather than from anonymous trading intermediaries.
Certification on file
Power products carry UL or ETL test reports where applicable. Radio products carry FCC declarations. Lithium products carry UN38.3 transport test summaries and safety data sheets. We keep the paperwork and supply it with your order on request.
Incoming lot inspection
Each incoming lot is sampled against an agreed acceptable quality level. We check cosmetic condition, packaging integrity, labeling accuracy and function. Lots that fail are quarantined and returned rather than blended into stock.
Function and capacity testing
Chargers and power banks are tested for rated output under load. Cables are checked for correct data and power negotiation. Memory products are tested for true capacity and sustained write performance, because fraudulent capacity is a genuine risk in this market.
Clear warranty policy
Stock carries a twelve month warranty against manufacturing defect from the invoice date. Defective units are credited or replaced. You do not need to fight for a resolution on a product that failed.
Traceability
Every shipment is traceable back to a lot, a factory and an inspection record. If a problem appears in the field we can identify exactly which units are affected rather than guessing.
Before the first purchase order
How a factory becomes a supplier here
Most quality problems in this industry are sourcing problems that were locked in months before anybody opened a carton. The cheapest place to solve them is at the beginning.

Identify the actual manufacturer
We buy from manufacturers and their authorized agents rather than from anonymous trading intermediaries. The first question on any new source is who physically builds the product, and if that question cannot be answered clearly the conversation ends there.

Review the paperwork
Business license, quality system documentation, applicable product certification and evidence of production capability at the volumes we intend to buy. We check that certificates name the exact model we are quoting rather than a similar unit from the same line.

Sample and test before the first order
Preproduction or current production samples are tested here against the specification the factory published. Power output under load, capacity, write speed, connector construction and packaging are all checked before a purchase order exists.

Start small and watch the second lot
A first order is deliberately modest. The real test of a factory is whether the second and third lots match the first, because quality drift between production runs is the most common failure mode in this industry and it never shows up in a sample.
Certification
Which marks apply to which products
Certification is not one badge that covers everything. Different product types answer to different standards, and knowing which applies to what is how a buyer tells a real supplier from a confident one.
UL and ETL
Wall adapters, car chargers, laptop power supplies, wireless charging pads
Safety certification for products connected to mains power, covering isolation, insulation, over current and over voltage protection, thermal behavior and fire enclosure. We ask for the test report with the file number and the named laboratory, not a logo printed on a box.
FCC
Bluetooth speakers, wireless earbuds, keyboards and mice, tracking tags
Anything that intentionally or unintentionally radiates radio frequency energy needs an FCC declaration or grant. We hold the declaration and the grantee code on file, which also lets us verify that the module inside the product is the one the paperwork describes.
UN38.3 and SDS
Power banks, portable speakers, earbuds, smart watches, anything with a cell
The transport test standard covering altitude, thermal cycling, vibration, shock, short circuit, impact, overcharge and forced discharge, plus the safety data sheet. Required for legal carriage and supplied with export orders as a matter of course.
RoHS and REACH
Cables, cases, housings, connectors, packaging and printed materials
Restrictions on hazardous substances in the materials themselves, covering lead, cadmium, mercury, certain phthalates and other restricted compounds. This matters most on items customers handle constantly, which is most of an accessory wall.
A note on reading certificates
A printed logo is a graphic, not a certification. The document that matters names the testing laboratory, carries a file or report number you can look up, and identifies the exact model number being sold rather than a sibling product from the same production line. When we onboard a factory we check the model number on the certificate against the model number on the quote, because the most common form of certification fraud in this market is not a forged document. It is a genuine document for a slightly different product.
Incoming inspection
Sampled against an agreed quality level, lot by lot
Certification tells you what a factory was capable of on the day it was tested. Inspection tells you what actually arrived.
Every incoming lot is sampled against an agreed acceptable quality level rather than spot checked by feel. The sample size scales with the lot size, the defect categories are defined in advance and the pass or fail threshold is set before the cartons are opened, so the decision is not a judgement call made under pressure to get product onto a shelf.
Inspectors check cosmetic condition, packaging integrity, labeling accuracy against the purchase order, correct model and revision, accessory contents inside retail boxes, and function on the sampled units. Lots that fail are quarantined and returned to the supplier. They are not blended into good stock, discounted quietly into the catalog or shipped to whichever customer complains least.
That last point is the one that costs money and the one that matters. A distributor who blends a marginal lot into inventory has transferred a known problem to a customer who does not know about it, and they will find out at their own counter with their own customer standing in front of them.
Chargers and adapters
Tested for rated output under load rather than at idle, which is the difference that catches an overstated adapter. We confirm the unit holds its stated voltage and current on the rated port, that multi port units behave correctly when several ports are drawing at once, and that power delivery negotiation actually happens rather than falling back silently to slow charging.
Cables and connectors
Checked for correct data and power negotiation, continuity on every conductor and connector fit that is firm rather than loose. On USB C we check that the tongue is centered and seated, because a loose tongue is an early failure and a return that lands in your store rather than ours.
Power banks
Discharged under a known load to confirm real usable capacity against the printed rating. Overstated capacity is endemic in this category, and a pack that weighs noticeably less than comparable units is almost never holding the cells its label claims. We weigh, we test and we reject.
Memory and storage
Tested for true capacity and sustained write speed, not the burst figure a card will hold for the first few seconds. Fraudulent capacity is a genuine and ongoing risk in flash memory, and a card that reports 256 gigabytes to the operating system while holding a fraction of that will destroy customer trust in your store, not in the factory that made it.

Twelve month warranty, a credit process and full traceability
A warranty is only worth what the process behind it is worth. Ours is written down so you are not negotiating from scratch on the day something fails.
Twelve month warranty
Stock carries a twelve month warranty against manufacturing defect from the invoice date. That covers failures in materials or workmanship: an adapter that stops delivering rated output, a cable that fails at the connector under normal use, a power bank that will not hold charge, a case with a molding or finish defect. It does not cover physical damage, liquid damage or normal wear, which is the same line every manufacturer in this category draws.
Returns and credit
Send the purchase order number, the item and a short description of the failure. Defective units are credited or replaced once returned or documented, and for small quantities we will often credit on photographs rather than make you pay freight to send back a failed cable. Non defective returns are considered case by case within thirty days on unopened stock and may carry a restocking charge. Damage or shortage on arrival is a separate and faster process: notify us within five business days with photographs.
Traceability that works backward
Every shipment traces back to a lot, a factory and an inspection record. When a problem shows up in the field we can identify precisely which units are affected, which other customers received product from the same lot and whether the issue is a single unit or a production run. That turns a vague worry into a defined list, and it is the difference between a targeted recall of forty units and a guess that damages a whole category.

This deserves a direct answer rather than a carefully worded one, because it is the question every serious buyer should be asking their supplier.
Higa Trader supplies third party and generic branded electronic accessories. That means product designed and manufactured to work with a device, sold under a generic brand or under no brand at all. It does not mean product bearing another company trademark, logo, packaging or trade dress that the manufacturer did not authorize. We do not sell counterfeit goods, we do not sell product in cloned retail packaging, and we will not source it for a customer who asks.
The distinction is easy to blur and expensive to get wrong. A generic USB C cable built to specification and sold in plain packaging is entirely legitimate commerce and is most of what an accessory wall consists of. The same cable in a box copying another company branding is a legal exposure that lands on the retailer holding it, not on the factory that printed the box. Customs seizures, marketplace account suspensions and direct claims from a trademark owner all attach to the seller.
So when we say a product is genuine, we mean it genuinely is what we say it is: a third party accessory from a named factory, tested here, with certification paperwork on file. We do not mean it is an original equipment part wearing somebody else name. If a supplier is offering you branded product at a price that only works if it is fake, that price is the tell.

Chain buyers, marketplace sellers and institutional accounts often need compliance paperwork on file before a purchase order can be approved. Ask for it on the quote and it travels with the shipment rather than arriving weeks later.

There are items in this industry where a specific certificate does not exist or does not apply, and there are requests where the honest answer is that we would need to go back to the factory and ask. We would rather say that than send you a document that does not actually cover the model you are buying. A compliance file is only useful if every page in it is true.
